Her Story

Susie Gorman Green
Susie, a native of Tennessee, began her career as a health and fitness professional in 1988. For
twelve years, she worked for the University of Tennessee Men’s Athletic Department as the
Spirit Coordinator for the award-winning Tennessee Cheerleaders and Dance Teams. During
this time, she earned her Master of Science in Human Performance and Sport Studies from
the University of Tennessee. While in graduate school, she deepened her knowledge of personal
training through an apprenticeship with a highly skilled fitness trainer and also taught
kinesiology courses as an adjunct instructor in the Exercise Science Department.
Since 1991, Susie has taught and certified personal trainers and group exercise instructors, while
also mentoring Master Teacher Trainers for the American Aerobics Association International
(AAAI/ISMA).
In 2000, she relocated to Manhattan Beach, California, where she built a full-time fitness career
in Los Angeles. Susie served as Group Exercise Manager and later as a Master Teacher
Trainer for Bally’s. Encouraged by her mentor, she began studying the Pilates Method,
recognizing how seamlessly it complemented her background in fitness. She later joined the
Manhattan Country Club, where she worked for seven years as a highly sought-after personal
trainer.
Alongside her professional career, Susie pursued her dream of becoming a multisport athlete
competing in marathons, long-distance hikes, USCF bike racing, open water swimming, and
ultimately bringing it all together in triathlon.
Today, Susie is passionate about helping individuals achieve a balanced, total training
program through Pilates, strength and conditioning, and metabolic and cardiovascular training.
A lifelong learner, she continually attends workshops, researches the latest health and movement
science, and works with mentors to refine her skills. Susie trains a wide spectrum of clients and
views personal training as an ever-evolving journey unique to each individual.
She is married to Curtis Green and has a family of four rescue dogs. She guest lectures
and teaches fitness classes at Corporate Conferences for Destination Concepts in
Southern California. Her interests include triathlons and animal rescue.
